Project Description

Josh’s project, Gifts from Nature, offers a crucial and timely response to the Anthropocene from a Black and Indigenous perspective of the "gift". Through ethnography and community engagement, the project integrates Indigenous knowledge systems with scientific and humanistic insights to honor diverse ways of knowing and being. At its core, the project illustrates how Indigenous epistemology— transmitted through musical and expressive traditions—provides valuable insights for developing potent sustainability frameworks.
