Caroline Rody had the good fortune of being Debbie McDowell’s student and dissertation advisee at the University of Virginia. She specializes in contemporary multiethnic American, postcolonial, and Jewish fiction in the UVA English Department and is the author of three books with Oxford University Press: The Daughter's Return: African American and Caribbean Women's Fictions of History, The Interethnic Imagination: Roots and Passages in Contemporary Asian American Fiction, and Writing the Great House: Transformations of a Topos Across World English Fiction (forthcoming August, 2026).
